Simultaneous Equations: Quiz 4
Use the substitution method to find the values of x and y in all of the simultaneous equations below.

1) y = x2 + 2

y = 3x + 6

2) y = x2 – 4

y = -3x

3) y = x2 + 4x

y = 2x – 1

4) y = 2x2 + 2x + 10

y = x2 – 4x + 2

5) y = x2 + 2

y – x = 8

6) y – 5x – 1 = 0

y = 2x2 – 2

7) x + 7y = 14

y2 + x = 4

hint: Substitute in for y

8) x2 + y2 = 5

y = x + 3

9) y = x2 + 4x
